Despite its debut last September, the Yeezy Season 4 apparel and footwear collection has finally started to roll out over the past couple of weeks. Featuring the usual range of premium crewnecks, trackpants, and outerwear, the latest offerings from the Kanye West and adidas collaboration also feature a new white/cream version of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2.
Along with the Boost 350 V2, the only other piece in the collection which caught my eye was the Boxy ‘Calabasas’ Crewneck – a nod to the singer and designers L.A residence. The crewneck also ties nicely in to the recent Calabasas collection which dropped earlier this year and comprised of throwback sweaters, sweatpants and an all-new 80’s inspired Powerphase Adidas sneaker.
For me, the Boost 350 and Calabasas Crewneck were the two standout pieces from the collection, which I hoped to add to my wardrobe.
As with all the previous releases I had signed up to various raffles and had tried to bag my pair of the Boost 350 V2 on the official adidas website on the day but had no luck! I had almost given up on getting them when I received a notification that both the Yeezy Boost 350 and Yeezy Season 4 apparel had just dropped on Selfridges. Annoyingly the Boost’s sold out during the checkout process but I ended up getting the Calabasas Crewneck I wanted so it wasn’t a complete failure.
When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how heavy it was. Made from French terry, the crewneck feels premium yet hard wearing. In terms of fit, for me it fits true to size despite it’s oversized fit. I’m a medium and I ordered a medium. Featuring drop shoulders and rib knit crewneck collar, cuffs, and hem, the crewneck sits well and looks great paired with a pair of blue ripped jeans.
What do you think of my latest pick up? Did you manage to get the Yeezy 350 Boosts? Any tips?
It’s been forever since I’ve done one of these type of posts! I don’t really know why I haven’t as I spend hours online and scrolling through instagram! Anyway, this is what has caught my eye lately. As you can probably tell I’m dreaming about warmer days and can’t wait for some REAL sun. After the last couple of months, I really feel like I need a week by a pool somewhere to just relax with a mojito in hand. As always, comfort is key for me – I like to keep it casual. You will most likely find me wearing a mixture of classic sports and streetwear brands or a pair of ripped blue jeans with a classic white t-shirt.
If you are anything like me then I’m sure you have been counting down to payday for the last week or two as well. Although I’m pretty good with money, by the time payday arrives, I already have my budget planned for the month ahead and know how much I have left to play with and… It’s okay to treat yourself every now and again!
Right now I’m starting to look for pieces to see me through the upcoming months and in to summer. In particular I’m looking at t-shirts and a pair of shorts or two as I have a trip away next month. I’ve just put a order in for ASOS for a couple of bits- I love thisNirvana band shirt. However, If I’m looking for items to last beyond a couple of months, I don’t mind paying more for good quality pieces.
So, as always, I have put together another unrealistic wishlist of things I would love to add to my wardrobe. The chances of it becoming reality are slim but a boy can dream! It’s always good to have things to work towards and coincidently, it’s also my Birthday next month too…
Since its debut, the Ultra boost has become one of adidas’ most popular releases and a firm favourite amongst fans. Early in December adidas announced it’s plans to unveil an updated version of the silhouette in size brand new colour options just in time for Christmas.
With the previous two models purchased in black, I thought it was about time I switched it up a bit, so have opted for the Triple White colour way for a change. So, despite the obvious difference in colour, what else is new about the 3.0’s compared to the originals or 1.0’s?
As with previous models the key features are all still here; the same inner liner, heel counter and Continental rubber outsole are all present, along with the infamous boost cushioning midsole.
The most notable difference is the new primeknit upper, this time featuring a tonal white and grey striped detail. The Primeknit feels a lot thinner and elasticated than previous models meaning the fit feels a bit different. Unlike the 1.0’s and 2.0’s where the Primeknit felt tightly woven, the new Primeknit feels a lot less knitted and much more like a sock liner, almost like something you would find on a Roshe Run or NMD.. but that’s not a bad thing. They are extremely comfortable.
Another small change to the uppers is the re-introdution of the tonal overlays around the toe area. Unlike the 2.0’s where the toe box was completely Primeknit, the 3.0’s are similar in style to the originals in this aspect.
As well as the new Primeknit upper, the updated silhouette is finished with a new translucent lace cage, which blends nicely into the shoe from a distance.
I bought the 3.0’s in my regular size and I would definitely say they fit true to size. This is 0.5 smaller than what my 1.0’s are.
With very little differences underfoot, I wouldn’t say this latest version is a ‘must-have’. For me, nothing can beat the original release. However, the Ultra Boost 3.0’s make a great addition to the Ultra Boost line up and makes a great everyday or sports shoe.
Now it’s December it means we are officially in Winter. Sigh. For a sun worshipper like me, Winter is my least favourite season of them all. I hate the cold. During the colder months I find myself stocking up on sweaters and knits and wearing multiple layers for the duration to keep myself warm.
As much as I complain about the change in weather, it’s not all bad; the change in season means a change in wardrobe and the chance to build on your winter staples.
Black Friday is the perfect time to add to your winter wardrobe as there’s so many deals about. If your not able to make it to the stores, there’s also a wide variety of deals available online to be had. So what did I purchase?
The first item wasn’t in the sale but I have wanted it since the Mr Porter x COS collection was first released. The Textured Alpaca-Blend Scarfis one of my favourite purchases this year. The quality is unbelievable; It’s made from alpaca-blend yarns in an insulating basketweave texture, it looks good and keeps me warm. I was on the look out for a ‘smart’ scarf for a while and this grey number fits the description perfectly. Another item I had been after for a while is a pair of skinny/slim cropped trousers in navy blue. After the trouble I had finding a pair of black ones a couple of months ago, I knew I had my work cut out finding a similar pair. Having purchased my other pair from ASOS, that was my first port of call. While I couldn’t find an exact match, these Navy Slim Fit Cropped Chinosin the sale from River Island (via ASOS) are the second best option.
My final purchase were these new adidas Stan Smith Gore-Tex Shoes. Stan Smiths are classics. Over the years I have owned multiple pairs of the classic silhouette and with my last pair looking like they’ve seen better days I thought it was time to treat myself to some new ones, and at 20% off I couldn’t say no. Unlike tradition Stan Smiths these ones are designed for all elements and are lined with GORE-TEX, making them completely waterproof, breathable and perfect for all weather come rain or shine. I also love this colour option with the vintage off white soles and faded green heel branding, much like the vintage Stan Smiths.
So there you have it; my new season finds, what do you think?
